Pleasureably Painful

by jason franklin

The silence was raw – angry – like a caged beast waiting to erupt,
Thoughts painting pictures of pain in my head,
Pictures of dishonest, and heart-splitting pleasure repeat itself over and over,
I see her leaning against her locker,
Her smile reveals misguiding emotion,
Does she know I know?
I stare into her heart-wrecking hazel eyes awaiting her opening comment,
“Hi” she said,

As I responded quick with worse then par eye contact,
Noticing my pain was as easy as noticing a bullet between my eyes,
The lockers behind her started to shade red,
I couldn’t hold it in, but before my buttons on my shirt could burst,
The flowers and chocolates representing my love for eternity were given,

“Happy Valentines day Baby”, I said,

Coping with pain is a must when caught in the center of the Earth.
